Hi friends! Two posts in one day?! I know it’s crazy but I was too pumped to write this post. First off because it was an awesome event held at The Hampton Social which you definitely need to try and secondly because I was excited to preview Physician Formula's new line for 2017.
Before I start, let me explain my relationship to the PF brand. In high school I was super into makeup/skincare, it was more of a hobby than anything else. The interest started because I suffered from severe acne and man would I cake it on. I was afraid to go anywhere without having any makeup on. I went to an all-girl high school and there was less pressure to look done up for school but I still never felt comfortable in my skin. It always looked like it was inflamed. That’s when my mom first introduced me to Physicians Formula.
Just incase you haven’t heard of Physicians Formula, it’s a cosmetic line formulated for sensitive skin. The best part about their products is that they do not contain PABA and over 100 other known skin irritants. Which is perfect for anyone who struggles to find makeup that doesn’t irritate their skin, like me. Fun fact: their powder compact was my very first compact when I started wearing makeup.
When college came along I noticed my view on makeup had begun to change. My skin had cleared up and wore less and less as the years went by. Being in my early twenties I have more respect for showcasing my natural skin/features. I want it to look as though I'm not wearing makeup at all. I was excited to try PF’s new products to see if there was anything I could add to my stash.
Please bare with me because I am not a make up guru, not even close. I don't know how to contour or put my eye makeup on the right way. What I do like is when products do exactly what they say they will. Which is why I decided to share my top picks:
Feather Brow
I never leave the house without filling in my eyebrows. What I think is so cool about this product is that the fibers actually replicate brow hairs which makes for a super natural look. Plus, it’s a highlighter duo which is an added bonus.
Matte Lacquer Gel Cream Eyeliner
Liquid eyeliner is my go-to for a night out. At first I was a little confused by the twist applicator but overall it does a good jobs of staying in place throughout the night.
Butter Blush
A little neutral blush never hurt anybody. I like to wear a little blush every day so I don't look so dead. This blush in particular smells amazing and has a super soft consistency.
Bronze Booster
Matte Sculpting: I am a very pale person. So pale that I look like I haven’t seen the sun in years — thank you Irish genes. I really like the matte version of this palate. The “contour” shades are great because I can switch them out depending on the season.
The event itself was a blast. The atmosphere at the Hampton Social is super nautical and fun. Stylish beauty and fashion bloggers from Chicago, New York and Los Angeles were invited to attended the celebration — I went on behalf of Windy City Blogger Collective. The PR and Social Media Guru at Physicians Formula flew in from California to talk more in detail about each one of the products. They were extremely nice and willing to even give my friend and I some tips on how to apply different products.
I had never been to the Hampton Social so I was excited to try out their food. Like this Crab Cake Benedict with poached egg, cremcotta ham, spicy hollandaise, and arugula. It was delicious.
My friend order this amazing L.B.L.T. which had poached lobster, bacon, arugula, fried egg, avocado mayo, and tomato all on multi-grain bread. I had always seen bloggers take pictures of the “rosé all day” sign was a little familiar with the spot but now after trying the food I would definitely come back for brunch!
A major shoutout to the Physicians Formula team for hosting such a fun event!
