5 Song to Listen to This Weekend

five-songs-for-the-weekend

Hi friends! I know it has been awhile since I've done a Friday Five but the last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Although, I feel like I say that every time! This weekend I'm headed down to Louisville, KY. It will be my first time back in months and I'm thoroughly excited. I miss the city. It didn't sink in until yesterday that I would be going back and visiting friends I haven't seen in almost a year. Crazy!

This week I decided to share a few songs I've been enjoying lately. My music taste tends to bounce all over the place and sometimes people are surprised by my choices but I couldn't tell you why. You would think that with the amount of music I listen to I would swallow my pride and pay for Spotify Premium but I've never been one to pay for music. I know, I know I need to support the artists. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

1. Plot Twist - Marc E. Bassy

I've always been a fan of Marc E. Bassy. He's got a different vibe that I dig. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't blown up yet. My friend recently showed me his song "Only the Poets" and I can't get enough. It's SO GOOD!

2. Chicago - Win and Woo x Bryce Fox

I might be a little biased on this song because well...it's called "Chicago" but it's super catchy. I've never heard of the Win and Woo, I actually stumbled on this song when I was listening to some random Spotify playlist. Bryce Fox is also a good artist to check out. I really like his song "Coldhearted" which Rory Kramer used in one of his more recent videos.

3. Faking It - Calvin Harris ft. Kehlani, Lil Yachty

Everything on Calvin Harris' new album as been ON POINT. He's got such a good mix of collaborations that have really changed his whole vibe. I think he's really got something good going.

4. No Fear - DeJ Loaf

I have no reason for putting this song on the list other than the fact that I think it's catchy. Plus, DeJ Loaf is pretty badass.

5. Big Fish - Vince Staples

I went to Pitchfork last weekend and Vince Staples just so happened to be performing. I had looked him up right before the festival not knowing who he was and ever since I've been digging all his music. It's almost a little too hipster for me but I think he is an extremely talented artist.

I hope you enjoyed some of these suggestions! If you have any other songs you think I should check out, send them my way!

Have a great weekend! xx
