Last week Caitlin of Sophistication messaged me asking if I could take her photos of holiday outfit from Akira that she was sent the other week. At first I was a little hesitant, only because during the week I'm always on the go so I never have time to myself. But I was convinced once she explained to me her vision for this outfit.
All week we were brainstorming different locations that would work perfectly to capture the drama of the outfit. This skirt is quite the showstopper so what better way to showcase it than at the Wrigley building. Being the crazy people we are, we woke up at the crack of dawn. We wanted too make sure there wasn't too many tourists out and about to distract the shoot.
Luckily the sun was out so the lighting was ideal. Keep in mind it was only 40 degrees out so Caitlin was a champ for standing in the cold for so long.
Photography Tip:
If you're shooting in manual and want to capture motion, let's say the twirling action in the skirt, increase your shutter speed. This might make the photo a little darker than you would like, so play around with the f/stop and ISO to find the perfect balance. But make sure to keep your ISO under 300 anything above that will start to get grainy.
This is definitely one of my favorite shoots to date. While we were complaining about getting up early, it definitely paid off in the end. Stay tuned I'll have her second look up later in the week.
Have a great weekend!
